This is a periodically updated index to hundreds of recipes from contributors to the Chicago-based food-discussion board LTHForum.
The index includes only recipes posted directly on the LTH site, not links to other sites, and, in general, only more-or-less formal, complete recipes (rather than loose descriptions of how somebody made dinner last night, bragging photos, discussions of cooking techniques or lists of ingredients without directions. The process of deciding just what does and doesn't constitute a "recipe" has, necessarily, been somewhat arbitrary).
If you think a recipe should be here and isn't, please contact me via the "contact me" link below or by pm at LTHForum. I also welcome pointers to recipes as they are posted.
Most of the links are to individual posts, though in a few cases I have linked to a recipe-rich topic. I have indexed the recipes by type of dish, in English, without cross-indexing by ingredients. If you have a surplus of, say, lemons, try plugging "lemon" into your browser's "find" feature to locate "Cabbage, red, Georgian-style with lemon," "Lemons, Moroccan-style preserved," "Pie, whole lemon tart," "Soda, summer lemon," etc. Use this method also to find dishes by their foreign-language names (sans diacritical marks).
Note that in topics with photos the links aren't always quite on target and you may have to scroll a bit to find the recipe. You can also use the Google box below to search LTHForum directly.
This listing links to more than 1,200 recipes posted from LTHForum's start in May 2004 through Nov. 25, 2008.
